Animals Law

I got an e mail from a girl, Kristin, that had found a puppy roaming around on the streets nearly getting killed. She wrote to me asking for help. I promised I would do my best to find a foster home or a permanent home, but told her I couldn't bring the dog into my house with 13 dogs. I could also bring the pup the veterinarian that would give a little time to find a solution. Kristin could not have the pup since she already had a dog and cat, her landlord would be angry if she had more.

Another woman writes to me telling me that her friend will bring the pup in for fostering for a couple of days. AWL sent e mails searching for volunteers, and we posted pictures. A couple of hours later I get an e mail which says, "If no one comes and takes the pup, they will throw the pup outside." I wrote back asking what the problem could be since the pup was doing fine with cats and dogs?

It was not the pup. The husband had said "yes" to fostering the pup for a couple of days, but when the wife brought the dog home he decided the pup was too big! She's just double size of a cat.

According to the e mail I got they were having "marriage problems" and he had told his wife to throw the pup out on the street. I wrote back saying if they did I would have to report them.

Tonight I spoke to the security guy about another dog being dumped into the vet station and the people/person who did this disapeared in a car. I told him about the pup story and if he would see the pup to give me a call. The security guy calls me one hour later. They had found the pup scared and abandoned by the ATM machine on base.

I couldn't believe that this couple would do it! I thought my promise to report them would "only" be an empty threat. The pup had only been with them for a couple of hours!

If the pup was being so enoying they could have locked her into a room or bathroom (fed her and out walking in between), waited as promised a couple of days. We were all working full priority on finding something for this little thing.

Tomorrow, I am meeting the security personnel to write out a complaint on this couple. I never thought I would have to do this, but a promise is a promise and I did warn them. After all, AWL is working for the animals rights, as much as it goes. Wish me luck!

I am tired about this. She told me that they were going to divorce (and she would return to States)this is nothing new.She tried to find help for their 2 cats he her husband didn't want them. It's to much drama here, and she is bad mouthing to organizations at the same time..shows

It would be polite with names, anonymous comments isn't much for me or other readers.

Have a great day
Mia (with picture)

Yes that is the email I sent but,As the email sates nothing was ever said about having marriage problems. They are not bad people. They did not release the dog on base. She did give it to a lady by the name of Elennora. After that it was not thae persons responsablity any more correct? Her husband does get mad at time but, What people don't get mad at times. we all love the animals and want what is best for them but, there is a time in some peoples life they just can't do it. I am asking to leave these people alone they did nothing wrong. They found a home for the pup and what the lady did with it after this person gave it to her we have no control over.I do hope and pray the pup will recover.

I have been quiet enough. The fact is, I had to ask Mia to make a statement...I am the one who pushed and processed the case about the puppy. This kind of behavior is exactly what makes these animals second rate citizens which also allows irresponsible people release on/off base. I am tired of watching it. Let me be clear, if you can't live up to your responsibilities, then do not accept the terms. There were two organizations they could have called and they chose neither. Who is Elennora and where do I find her? I'll question her on a legal level too...I have no problem upsetting people. The answer to Anonymous whoever's question about responsibility is "WRONG." The fact is, THEY accepted the terms, THEY passed the dog off to someone else without contacting the originator. Show me where THEY made a concerted effort...I'd like to see it. Understand this, Mia has friends who care about these animals and, when it concerns the property the base sits on, the people living here and this kind of irresponsibility, I will do this again for the sake of these little souls who have no voice. As for these people who did nothing wrong, remember, everything about this is in black and white and negates the base policy concerning pets. At this point, it is better to drop all of this now because there will be no repercussions at this point. If anymore threats are made to Mia, I can take this completed case directly to legal myself with these "good people's" name attached to it. I'm sure it would make for some good reading...DROP IT NOW.

Signed with lots of love,

Eric Wooley

WOW. Never knew AWL had so much drama on their plate. Obviously, I have way too much spare time to actually sit down and read all this madness. lol. I signed up to volunteer with both NFOA and AWL. I know I'm not in on this so my opinion doesn't really matter, but you all say you're in it for the animals???
So why are you wasting your time dealing with PEOPLE? He said this, she did that... This world is full of assholes (excuse my language) and everyone has different opinions. What maters now, is the puppy is getting the help he/she needs. Right? Does it really matter how she got to that point? As long as she's where she needs to be NOW. It just seems like you ppl are wasting your breathe. There will always be jerks and theres nothing we can do stop it. It's frustrating to clean up their messes, yes. But if these ppl actually DID release the dog (I'm not saying they did or not cause it's not for me to judge) then they obviously are not worth your time or energy. Who are we to judge other ppl? Theres only one judge and that's God. And he sees all.
So quit giving yourselves this headache. lol. Or keep headbutting the same dead end road if you like. If NFOA and AWL are involved in all this drama and rumors, I don't think I'm going to volunteer for either organization anymore. And I know a couple other ppl are in the same boat. In the 3 months that I've been here in Italy, I've heard nothing but bad things about both organizations.
It's a shame that people can't get along for the sake of animals. It's only the animals that suffer. I'm just glad theres good ppl to pick up the bad ppls slack.
But wow, you ppl really need to get a hold of yourselves. Cause these ppl are not worth your time when you obviously have bigger issues you care about. like the ANIMALS. lol.
Take care all, and may the Lord bless you.

As to this person Eric we did contact both places and they could not help anybody. So please get your story straight before you run your mouth as well. This Elennora was a local national on base and she said the dog was cute and she said she could take it... We do love to help the animals just like everybody else does but, when AWL and NFOA can't help what are we to do? We have it all in black anbd white as well too. So you don't continue with your threats either, Because I will go to legal as well. I do agree with the other person that is anonymous person on here.. I hear more and more bad things about both AWL and NFOA. So so be it I am done and want nothing to do with either place... I will do what I have to do.

When you are writing anonymous your computer IP number shows up, and your names if you have sent e mails to me.

I am so sorry for you that you had to have a bad experience with two organizations. Maybe you should concider doing something else.

Unfortunately, people did this and dealing with them is necessary. All of this is not about NFOA or AWL...I know, I deal with cases of stray dogs on-base anyway and this will not be the last. I am sure the next dog/puppy will be an inconvenience to someone and it will happen again...it always does. Both NFOA and AWL are fine organizations, but in this particular case, Mia is unnecessarily taking crap when the fact remains the puppy was found underneath the ATM machine at the TLA after SOMEONE agreed to take care of her. Still not one person will own up to it, let alone sign their name to their comments and conveniently blaming an Italian national. In addition, both NFOA and AWL will lose volunteers despite the people and the dogs are still in need of help. This is grand. This is a military base and you know when the policy is breached, then there is an accountability issue. This explains why we are wasting time on this. I have asked this be dropped, but those involved continue to call/email Mia and threaten her, whereas Security has dropped the case, but still THEY continue. Dislike me...I DO NOT CARE, but leave Mia alone. I would say the same thing about NFOA. Before you judge either entity by the stupidity, remember, the dogs are still the innocent ones...PEOPLE DID THIS.

Thanks Eric for your inputs, first I like people who dare to use their names, then...they were never volenteers for AWL.
They cannot harm me or AWL we are to big International since 1999, so its not only me.

Tomorrow I am off to meet the spokesperson for UN, and BTW people doesn't care about these comments, only 9 have read them since a couple of days ago...its an old post. AND this is my private blog AWL has its own..
