THE LOVE FROM OTHER PEOPLE

This is the first summer I can spend my time in the garden. After two years of sever illness, fighting it!

I did it!

There are amazing people out there in the world.

I was so thrilled what the riding instructor Giovanni and Marina did for Olivia my daughter. We lived in Italy 2007-2011 and Olivia started riding at the Blue Moon riding-stable.
She loved it--and so did I-- and they were all amazing. Patient and full of love.

Une due tree, tu bacio me!

Many times cries Olivia since she miss them all, and her favorite horse, Tania. Its hard to comfort her many times.
I wrote to Giovanni greetings from Olivia and how much she missed them all. In return, he had them all pose for a picture for Olivia. Even together with the horse Tania.

That made Olivia's day! We glued the picture in to her Horse book and when she is sad, she takes it out and feels "not-forgotten"

That's Amore!

Horses & Children

Watching my daughter ride is a true pleasure. And today, she trotted for her first time. Bouncing up and down, her helmet was flopping around, and she just giggled!
These two boys --on the picture-- were holding their mothers horse while she was helping another lady, that touched my heart.
But it was difficult watching one boy riding his horse in the riding arena, in the same group as my daughter.
He did n’t use his feet to increase the speed of the horse. He did n’t use his seat to hold an even tempo together with his horse. He used his whip on the horse the whole time.
The instructor did n’t say anything, nor his father whom stood watching with an unexpressed face. The roller coast of emotions.....

A Horse Moment

The teacher got a little surprised today, when I asked her to show Olivia how to take care of a horse from the ground. No one had done so before ( at least for a long time) asked to have their child(ren) become dirty, learning the less-fun aspects of horsemanship.

I want Olivia to learn how much work it is with a horse (or any animal) and also the importance to be connected with the horse from the ground, from that perspective of the relationship.

The teacher smiled when I told my daughter to thank the horse after the lesson. I find it very important to be thankful to the horse, who is after all, the one working hard for our pleasure.

Oh dear! Mothers always have internal fears. But I promise you, when she is having her lesson my lips are closed.

And So It Begins

Today my children and I went with our Italian friends to have a look at their horse. They wanted my opinion about this beautiful, clever and sensitive horse.

Well, I had everything right when I explained their horse's mentality and health, so they wanted me back. It felt wonderful being out in the stables again working. Today, I felt how much I have missed it.

And, Olivia (in a couple of months turns 4 years-old) wanted so badly to ride (ok, this pictures shows something else, but this was the only photo were the horse looked good) that she cried, hanging around our legs. Well, I signed her up for her first riding lesson next Tuesday. Gosh I am as exited as Olivia.

When we came home Olivia said "And then I want a cow!"

That's daughter Amore!
