ABBY WITH A BROKEN LEG BUT A HEALED HEART

Our little Abby. Found on the gas station bleeding. At the clinic they found her tooth right up her nose and now she got a broken leg! At Dr Damiani clinic they called in a specialist that made the surgery on Abby.
Our little Lady was such a fantastic client and is our true Amore favorite.

Here you can see the fracture, and it seemed like it was an old fracture. We don't know what happened, but suddenly was she jumping on three legs.

Abby's family in Sweden are waiting and waiting. Their little daughter Engla is drawing pictures to Abby. I know Abby will have a wonderful time in Sweden, normally I don'l like dressed up dogs. But Abby is a freezing little spirit and I think she would love a sweater with a big heart on.
  • Thank you Jackie (US) and Jennifer (Belgium) for your donations.

A BIG THANK YOU TO VOLUNTEER ULLA

picture vet. Mariagracia taking a blood test on Phillipo

Ulla Linder. a volunteer from Stockholm, came down back in November with a lot of care packages. She had also designed my buisness cards and AWL buisness cards---wohoo I feel so important ---And she had also made AWL stickers, really nice ones.

She went with us to the shelter and fell in love with Phillipo. And in my house she fell in love with our Capri. Both dogs will have a great owner, fantastic athmosphere and life being spoiled.

We put Ulla to work while she was here, hard work like taking care of Benjamin, cleaning his pen, his surroundings and bath him every day in special treatment shampoo.

Ulla was tested very hard by me, since I cannot have "coffee ladies" around me who want to socialize but not work. Ulla passed the test with great verve. Also Ulla, thank you for your Christmas donation, what an amore gift.

Thank you for everything, all the presents, leashes, collars, brushes, you name it ... and MONEY!

Heart Warming People

Today I picked up AWL t-shirts and they look great. But I am so thrilled over how many wonderful persons are involved in our projects. Tomorrow Mission 1 starts, the research and at the same time we do the donation food drive. The shelter has 500 dogs, and like I have earlier said, "the adoptions are more or less zero"

I want to thank China (SE), Ulla (IR) Mitra (IT) Himmelska Hundar, and to the Organization Chans (SE) for their generous donations.

Eric came by yesterday with two big bags of dog food and also a generous monetary donation.

Vania is working hard to promote AWL in general and specifically for Mission 2 in August. She even managed to get three huge couch pillows that will work wonders for the older dogs with arthritis.

Tomorrow we will post pictures from the research mission, and see how many bags of dog food we can deliver in our new t-shirts. Thank you all, you give me inspiration to continue with the Missions!

Its Not Right!

(look at earlier blogs)
I didn't feel right to leave them back out on the street again. From being strays, to rescued they were now back to being strays.
Cucci and Grace are the sweetest dogs I ever met. So says the others who met them too. But why can we not find anyone to help out by fostering them, or even better up, adopt them?

My husband and I even said that if somebody would foster them for one to two years, we would pay the bills if needed. And then we could take them back into our home. Right now we have 12 dogs and in a month we will foster a dog for two months before he goes to Sweden! There is a limit, after all!

It's wonderful that some are making the call to tell us about animals in trouble, so we can help them... and to a man, they all profess a great concern for the animals. Yet, they never seem to consider helping with the expenses, very few does (my hat off to Michelle and Maria). Even a small amount would go a long way to providing the assistance these dogs need. Ok, I shouldn't say never. Mario and Lupo's former "parents" did make a $300 donation in connection with us helping to find a new family for their dogs.
Grace would need "only" to be a stay-at-home dog. Lay in the yard, have some one who pets her and tells her how pretty she is. She needs very little exercise, because she simply can't do it. Right now she walks three meters and then must lay down (but with right treatment she will do better), thats how difficult she is having it living on the street.
Put her to sleep? It is only her difficluty getting food on the street that she is having a problem with.

According to Dr. Gigi, she is ok now but when it gets cold here, is when she will really have difficulty.
Cucci --- what a guy! Holly Molly he stole our heart at the clinic and people around. Rottweiler mix, so happy, so sweet, so gentle. He sat in the waiting room amazed looking at all the dogs that passed him, right in front of his nose. Absolutely no aggressive or territorial moves at all.

Driving them back after one week at the vet clinic, it was with a sad heart I had to leave them. During the 30 minutes drive they sat like two saints in the back seat.
When we were back on their old "home" street they went out in the grass and pee'd and poo'd. I was so impressed that they "knew" to hold themselves in the SUV, until we stopped.
So easy to have, so loving, and so fast learners, why doesn't anyone ......

KIMBO Needs A Home

Sweet sensitive male, around one year-old needs a home were he can relax and grow both on the inside and outside.
He is now at a foster home with seven other dogs and needs to be in a forever home to learn a few things. He was found wounded on the street. Maria and Michelle brought him in, cleaned his wounds and made sure he got medical treatment. One wound was were the collar is and still he is still kind of protective around that area if you try to pull him away. He is not aggressive, he is a young, novice boy who needs a gentle hand and clever, willing mind.

AWL want to thank Maira Kurta for the collars in different sizes, and toy. Also did Maria and her friend Michelle donate two big bags of dog food. That is so wonderful Amore, thank you.

Grace and Cucci Getting Treatment Today

Update from Tuesdays blog
This morning we went to pick Grace and Cucci up and brought them into the veterinarian clinic. Grace, talked to me with a low "happy" voice., that touched my heart so much since it was only the third time we met. Grace is an adorable girl, both my husband and I want her.
She is a very sensitive girl, and her bones are giving her some kind of problems. She doesn't want to stand up for long, or walk. I am very concerned for her.
They are going to make an examination, and this Saturday I will get an opinion from the team
Our AWL veterinarian Dr Inga, will have a look at her too, when she returns to Naples.
Grace and Cucci let us lift them into our SUV. I admire them so much, these strays which probably never been in a car before, and strangers lifting them, and they accepts it so beautiful. Their genuine kindness and trust, I wish more people could have that. And honesty! Cucci is a cool boy, friendly and forward in a polite way. He is getting castrated (Grace was already spayed and released out on the street), de wormed and frontline. Both are being tested for different diseases.
They are both around 1-2 years old. Grace is depending on Cucci, and both really want love and leadership, they couldn't get enough with that today. What a couple and I am so happy to be out among the strays again...my passion, my life.
Megan Seibert, Ulla Linders and Bella Appelblom thank you so much for your generous donations. It means so much for us and the strays. We are really working to keep the costs down. LegaProAnimale is also an foundation and helps us keeping the bills lower than with anybody else. Our dr Inga is giving her free time to work with the strays.

Wonderful People

Last Saturday I met some very interesting people, and it was with joy I sat down and listened to their stories.

One couple had decided to adopt a dog (in the States) and went to a very nice shelter, found a Rottweiler that they fell in love with. A donation fee was asked for, and the couple gladly paid, and they even paid a little more than double the fee. Later they found out that one man could not afford the adoption fee but wanted one particular dog very much. Because of the generous donation from the couple, this man was able to adopt the dog for free.

This is so much Amore.

The family Wyro are a great Amore family, and even the grandmother has donated to AWL. We thank her dearly.

Our friends from Germany visited us yesterday and they brought donations with them; toys, blankets, dog food and money. You are so wonderful, our dear friends.

Bella with her family, thank you again for your donation. Your support means so much to (us) me.

Veterinarian Inga donated to AWL, not "only" her time but also money. Such Amore.

Vittoria, who spent the whole Tuesday morning translating and seeking/research after Oscar's owner. A very frustrating day.

You wonderful people donate and give us help, hope and strength. I love you!

Great Friends

My daughter Olivia is very blessed to meet wonderful, interesting and warm people,-- and so am I. Here together with Benny Rosenqvist, one of the best Mediums... and Olivia's Godfather.

We also went and had coffee with Erika and her husband Bobby at their fantastic apartment. The view from their terrace out to sea was heavenly. Their two sweet dogs Athena and Akilles are so well behaved and charming. Olivia loved to lay next to them in their huge bed (the dogs). Giove will have a paradise family.

AWL also got a donation from both Erika and Benny from a seance they held with a group of people.
Linda, your bags of dog food keep coming in every week. Thank you so much!

Support From Animal Lovers

Animals wihtout Limits are so over whelmed by the numerous people that have helped us to find a home for the dogs, Lupo and Mario. (see blog further down)

A flyer was made in German and passed around to the German population here. A group mail went out to US soldiers and their spouses with a description of the situation and pictures. Donations: thank you Brenda, Malte and Sabine.

Mallory for sponsoring with babysitting to my children so I could drive and leave the dogs at the veterinarian station. LegaProAnimale for the fantastic discount. Chris for letting the boys stay at your house for a couple of days.

Naples Friends of Animals for good advice and for putting the dogs on your adoption list.

So many wonderful people who have also learned and got useful information about these two boys. Surely a home is just around the corner with all this work and love!

Lets give them an Amore home!

Lupio Needs a Home

This is the other sweet brother, Lupio who needs a warm loving home. (see blog from the 25th)
Animals wihtout Limits received a donation from their former owner yesterday, together with an e mail comment that I really would like to comment on my blog.
More tomorrow, we are exhausted from running around, and calling people trying to find a home for these loving brothers.
As a Christian, this is Christian Amore!
