Animal Hospital with Compassion

Villa Felice, the ER animal hospital here in Arco Felice are doing a lot of work helping the animals 24/7.
This fantastic strong minded dog on the picture above, survived after being severely burned. the poor dear even lost her ears to this cruelty. This happened in February. Hopefully, her new family will pick her up any day now, and be able to love her as she deserves to be loved! What a will to live!

When I walk into any animal hospital in the world--and I have visited many-- I look for compassion in the workers towards the animals --that they are having as patients-- but also for the owners. It is a critical emotional moment for the owners when something is happening to their dear ones--for many it is their "kid". The compassion in the people at any of these facilities is really more important than the physical facility, and can make up for some shortcomings in equipment.

The late evening when Shiloh got hit by a car I called in to the ER animal hospital. I told the man in the other line that my husband was on his way in with our hurt dog. I was upset and stuttered and in a thin voice I contiuned, "He doesn't have his wallet with him and I am alone in the house with two small children."
The man was calm on the other side of the phone, "Don't you worry about that."

I knew then that he had compassion for the animal that would soon "walk" through his door... if he had compassion for a faceless lady on the other end of the phone!

This is good compassion Amore!

Shiloh with Room-mate at ER

You can see Shiloh in the cage, and the burned dog checking her out.

Shiloh is still in critical condition. 24 more hours and maybe we will have a clearer idea of the damage she sustained... bite our nails. It is a torture to watch her, waiting and hoping and you feel like you can do nothing. Every time the phone rings I jump out of fear for bad news.
What is happening?

This afternoon I took the children and visited her. She looked at us when we entered the room but it was like she looked right through us. She responded to noise but nothing like recognising us, no whimpering like the other sick dogs did when they saw us. No wagging tail. Nothing!
I feel like she is not going to be herself anymore, but I pray to God that I am so wrong.

They took her out to see if she could stand up, but she just fell on her head not able to support her left shoulder. Again, no sound at all just like a zombie. I started to cry.

Tomorrow afternoon they are going to x-ray her again.

Please think of her and send Amore!

The picture shows one of her roommates. The dog doesn't have any ears, no fur just pink new skin with a huge bruise on her side. I couldn't help asking what had happened to her, she reminded me strongly of Capri, our (new)dog. The nurse told me that this dog had been there since February, some children had put her on fire!

Amore mi!

Two Young Lifes

A baby in Bogalusa is fighting for her life after being beaten, drugged and burned.

A Marine throwing a puppy off the cliff and it is showed on a video on my tube. Many upset people and also the marine officials are doing everything in their power to find this person.

This is not Amore!
