DELIVERING PLASTIC PALLETS TO A SHELTER

Last Friday I picked up plastic pallets from a warehouse and delivered them yesterday to a shelter. Thank you Bill for volunteering that morning, and also walking Fred. Olivia was walking one dog while Max was eating cookies.

It was heartbreaking walking around looking into these begging eyes. 130 dogs with different stories. A beautiful Husky puppy 4-5 months old doing everything to get our attention.

Look at the cage! Wouldn't you want to save an animal?
When you abandon a dog, this is the view the dog will have.

Someone said they wouldn't help Mia (AWL) since I (we) had enough. Look at these pictures and tell me if its assumption or fact!

Our former "volunteer" Lindy Bunn's favorite walking couple Ginger and Fred. Lindy asked from Germany how they were doing and to give them a walk and kiss. And we did!

Thank you for making a difference with good true facts and hard work. That's Amore!

MORE PICTURES FROM WALK AND WASH MISSION LAST SUNDAY

Look at this beauty, she loved it. By the way, this female is so calm and well behaved and she is up for adoption. The family doesn't want her. If we didn't have 17 dogs I would take her in a heart-beat. She is the most wonderful, well behaved kind dog I ever met.
Anna and Cindy did a good job washing dogs, some didn't want to at first but afterwards they felt great.

This "little" one didn't want to walk up to the bath tub.

The whole team helping out, and calm well behaved children join too.

Another bath.....

Megan and Stumpy, he was so in love with Megan it was heart-breaking watching. Since we knew that Megan and Tracey "only" were here for a couple of days volunteering. Stumpy from a past blog that ate his tail and AWL rescued him from bleeding to death. Look at him!
Also a wonderful spirit.

Brett and Nate were the great dog walkers. We were so amazed over how many dogs they got to walk, and after every walk they brushed the dog before putting him in. We were amazed.

This little one was found by Angela. He came walking on a very busy street in this condition, nearly being hit by trucks. We named him Fiore since we think he looks like a flower that with the right medicine and love, will soon bloom. We need help with donations to make that become reality.

Tracey and Megan flew in a couple of days from the States to help out. Stumpy was so in Amore heaven.

Here they come Anna and Cindy, super volunteers that had the day before collected money on Base and then bought dog food that they brought with them. That's Amore
Thank you all again...you made such a difference ...gave us smiles and the dogs hope. It was a very good day.
Mark, Brett, Nate, Cindy, Anna, Megan, Tracey, Angela with family, Todd, Olivia....fantastic Amore.

ADMIT IT! LIFE CAN HAVE/ TAKE SUPRISING TURNS

One day, several months ago there was a little male dog --- just skin and bones --- carried in to Rosella's shelter. Due to his apparent pain and hunger, he was aggressive. From his penis came bubbly fluid, he looked horrible, I have to say.

At that time there was a veterinarian at the shelter, and I brought her to the cage were he was laying.

" Help him" I said!

She couldn't get close to him, he snapped like a barracuda.
We (AWL) had a group of volunteers there walking and cleaning dogs, and some of them got upset, they wanted him to be put to sleep.

One offered to pay for the medical treatments at a veterinarian clinic. But we couldn't get close to the dog, he flew at us with his sharp teeth and then curled back up in his little box.
Rosella was also afraid that the vet clinic would put him to sleep because they would say it was more humane for him.

What could I do? It was her shelter, her dog.....we provide her with some medicine but not all, we gave some boxes of antibiotics. I have to admit it also crossed my mind to put him to sleep, but I respected Rosellas's wish, and did what we could.

I'm happy to say that Rosella did it, together with her volunteers. A wonderful surprise.....Merlin got well, and he is now in a loving home. Enjoy the pictures below!

No one could touch him before, this is Amore.

I am amazed and happy.

Look at this face, so close to death--now so close to "earthly heaven."

This is the new friend, Merlin looks fantastic.
Ahh la vita....
This is our mommy.....That's Amore. Great job animal friends!
